At First Steps Intervention, we believe that early support can make a lifetime of difference. Our mission is to help families and caregivers identify developmental milestones, recognize potential delays, and provide guidance to ensure every child can thrive.
Who We Are
First Steps Intervention is a partnership of professionals dedicated to supporting children who have or may be at risk of developmental delays. We provide:
Healthy child development guidance
Universal developmental and behavioral screening
Support for families, caregivers, and service providers
Our goal is to ensure every child receives the right support at the right time, giving them the best possible start in life.
First steps will support families and providers to:
- Celebrate their child’s milestones. Families look forward to seeing their child’s first smile, first words and first step. Frequent screenings support to boost the knowledge of a child’s developmental trajectory, making it easier to expect and celebrate developmental milestones as they occur.
- Promote universal screening and resources to access such services. Some of these screenings are hearing and vision screenings to assure that children can hear and see clearly, developmental, and behavioral screenings also follow the child’s progress in areas such as social, language, or motor development.
- Pinpoint possible delays and concerns early. The regular screenings support families, teachers, and other professionals to make certain that young children get the services and supports they need, and as early as possible to help them succeed alongside their peers.
- Build up developmental supports. Merging the love and understanding families have of their children with tools, guidance, and tips recommended by professionals can make the most of the developmental support children receive.
